Math![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: IAKSS | enVision 4.2 - from M. Honeycutt/LHS I used Jamboard to do the Model and Discuss portion of the 4-1 Algebra 2 lesson and it's not fancy or cute, but it worked beautifully and was so fast and easy. You could also use Google Slides. Instead of having the students do the Model and Discuss intro to the lesson individually in their workbooks, I posted it on the Jamboard/Google Slide. The students could all post their responses (Zoom and in-person) while simultaneously seeing what their classmates were doing. They could also do a virtual gallery walk to look at the class responses and post answers to some questions I posted on later slides. Then we took all the data, plotted it into Desmos and talked about the graph of the rational function and its key features. Jamboard allowed all of this data collection and review to happen so fast that it really allowed time for students to see the connections made without getting lost in the time it would normally take to compile a list and then plot a graph. PRO-TIP: Only grant permission edit rights for a small amount of time. As soon as I saw a few of my students starting to play tic-tac-toe with each other, that was my cue to change it back to "view only" so the students could focus on the discussion.
