Location: Tates Creek | Trash or treasure: I partnered the students up and gave them each some cards from a standard deck. Each person draws two cards and distributes (red 2 and black 5: (x-2)(x+5) = x^2+3x-10), then gives the trinomial to their partner to factor. They can keep score or race or whatever works best for your situation. It is an easy way to create and have them work a multitude of problems. |

| I love this website! I used it last year with chapter 5 once the a term is no longer 1. This takes the place of guess and check or trial and error. It really helps the students, but helped me as well! This kids love this method, especially after they have seen how long it takes otherwise to factor.
