tunnels

	At the NCTM in St. Louis, I attended a workshop on quadratics. It was on minimizing the area between a parabola and the x-axis while building a tunnel for Matchbox cars. It would be a perfect addendum to our unit. It requires finding a vertex and equation, then finding the area under the curve. Then students cut out the tunnel and test it with cars.

You may want to look at the MILC final units site to see how I numbered/labeled everything before you send it, though, so you can name this activity in a similar manner. Thanks, Kelly!
