Math Posts: 119 Location: Henry Clay | Just a reminder that I am the February MILC leader. It is imperative that we finalize our unit. Look on the U drive in the MATH folder for MILC probability unit. You will find 3 lessons thus far. (Brysons, Kates and mine). Dale and Julia will write in the accomodations for each aspect of the lessons. We probably need to schedule one more day after school to get it all together. Will Feb 22 work for you? Please 'reply to all'.

Math Posts: 108 Location: Henry Clay | I have two lessons - one is completed, the second one I still need to type up. I didn't have access to the U-drive until Friday so I will get mine posted as soon as get if off of Steve's jump drive.

Math Posts: 108 Location: Henry Clay | It looks like feb is a bad month for almost everyone. Could we meet the first week in March to finalize everything?

Math Posts: 108 Location: Henry Clay | Of course, by this first week in march everyone should have their part done - so all we need to do is go through the unit and make sure all handouts/activities/etc are in order.

Math Posts: 281 Location: Henry Clay | First week in March is better for me. However, I have Winter Prep March 2 and Plato Mondays and Wednesdays. Do not plan around me. I will just have to catch up....

Math Posts: 104 Location: Henry Clay | The final version of the Roulette game will have a few opening screens which the user will step through prior to playing the game. These screens will explain how the game is played and will explain the odds with an emphasis on helping the student to understand the "house advantage". I plan to have a worksheet that students will fill out as they go through these screens (kind of a note page). This sheet will also have some questions on it that will require the student to apply what they have learned. Perhaps it could even culminate in an open response item. Perhaps give them some sort of a problem where they are asked to use what they have learned about the odds and house advantage to respond to someone who believes that they can win big at this game. I would really appreciate any suggestions regarding this. Steve

Math Posts: 108 Location: Henry Clay | when do we need to get all of our stuff to Dale and Julia so they can do the modifications? OR are they going to do all the modifications during our next meeting?

Math Posts: 104 Location: Henry Clay | Should we get together one more time prior to the next MILC meeting just to make sure that we all are on the same page regarding the presentation of our unit?

Math Posts: 119 Location: Henry Clay | March 28 will be good for me. The meeting shouldn't take but just a few minutes.

Math Posts: 281 Location: Henry Clay | Please plan to attend a short meeting after school on Tuesday March 28, 2006 to finalize our plans for our presentation. I plan to use a few minutes to play a Jeopardy game with the navigator. Hopefully only 5 minutes. We also would like to show off the roulette wheel for a few minutes. Should we create a PowerPoint of each day’s core content number and/or major theme? Maybe Dale or Julia could do this from the unit packet that is already together? Any takers…. Any other needs and/or wants for the presentation on the 29th?

Math Location: IAKSS | Dale is our March HCHS leader....so he will be called on to present. I think a powerpoint of the days and cc #'s is an excellent idea.
