The Mathematics Instructional Learning Community (MILC) Project is an alliance among Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) math teachers focusing on:
  • Increasing the pedagogy and content knowledge of math teachers;
  • Integrating technology tools into everyday math instruction; and
  • Developing, implementing and revising units of study.

I used this Desmos activity last year and it went really well.

Some students did not have time to finish the entire thing with the other activities I had assigned for the day, but everyone got at least half of it completed and understood more about the equation of a circle.

I would use this Desmos BEFORE starting Topic 10.
Students have to find out k, r, h, and does a nice job agree. Slide 9 says copy answers into your notes.

Could use this Desmos with PreCalc, too!
